Er, Hi
Sorry it’s been so long since a substantive, non-del.icio.us-related linky post. There were a myriad of reasons, but they mostly boiled down to the fact that I’ve been feeling kind of isolated, which, given that I am an immensely logical and clear-thinking person (no, really), usually drop-kicks me straight into Major Hermit Mode instead of Being More Social Even If It’s Just Online Mode. Trying to crawl out of the glacial crevasse, though, and back into reality.
Sadly, though, there’s not all that much to report. I’ve done a bit of cooking:

And a bit of baking:

Both of which are from Veganomicon, with the usual minor tweaks, depending on momentary whim and how long things have been sitting in my fridge’s vegetable crisper.
Ravelry continues to be an addiction; true to my nature, I basicaly lurk in most of the groups I’ve joined, but I did get up the nerve to add a photo of a recent FO to one group. Still need to photograph a couple of my projects, though, and update my stash and needle collection. Oh, and get the cool little WIP bars for the blog’s sidebar.
So many little projects have been languishing lately: updating the blogroll, doing a pre-spring clean of the flat (er, not strictly speaking a “little” project, but there you go), mending the clothes that seem to be disintegrating under their own power, figuring out a way to darn socks without leaving a great big lump, doing my taxes, paying Sid the Beetle’s ad valorem tax, renewing my TerraPass for Sid and flat, arranging for a checkup, actually daring to log back into the geeky online dating site I recently switched to so I can find out who’s tried to communicate while I’ve been hiding. . . . It just gets overwhelming, and I find on my days off that it’s just easier to stick your fingers in your metaphorical ears, sing “LALALALALALALA” loudly at the universe, and split your time between knitting, napping, and trying to beat the annoying AI at computer Scrabble. (On the plus side, I’m something like 24 to 2 against the Intermediate AI.)
Oh well. I’m working on it. And, as they say on the AntiCraft, “You’re going to die anyway. You might as well knit.”

(Yes, I’m trying to incorporate more photos in the blog. We’ll see how long that lasts. Hat, incidentally, is the first of at least three that I’m planning to send to the Peach Blossom Knits person for donation to Capped.org. So many knitting donation sites want you to work with wool, and so many health-related charities apparently still sponsor animal testing [you can check here if you're curious]; it’s a relief to find a place where I can help, even in a small way.)
