Verbosity of a vegan geekgoth editor. I spend all day cutting out unnecessary wordiness; don't expect me to be succinct here.

that particular american person might not have had enough knowledge about british history, but i disagree all americans r twits. its not just americans anyway.. many british come to my country and act unbelievably stupid. i dont mean to talk bad things about them tho. am just saying, we shouldnt specifically say 'americans' just coz of SOME of them...

in fact that publisher who asked for the mary tudors tomb photo is just as bad, right?!?!

Eh. Some people enjoy sports trivia and get all worked up about that. I'd rather get worked up about people and things that actually shaped the world as we know it now. :)

Wow, that was a pretentious rant, huh? That stupid tourist, get your historical haircuts right damn it! Your impression of a royal snob’s irritation with the “common” folk is spot on. You need a vacation… oh wait… that was vacation.

My impression was that particular docent was cranky from long hours on his feet dealing with irritating tourists, and was beyond caring whether the American actually understood what she was seeing. I could be wrong, of course. (When I pointed out to him that the memorial was in fact of Henry VII, he perked up a little. Also, I should've pointed out in the post that, again, this is a shared-crypt situation, and that James I/VI does technically share a tomb with Henry VII and his wife Elizabeth of York. The main inaccuracy was the implication that the effigy was of James.)

The American may well have been a twit, but so was the Brit docent (often they just SOUND as if they know what they're talking about just because of the bloody accent). Grr and all that.
