Just in time for the conference in Quebec City. I’m sure someone will make the obvious joke that “vegan” in French is apparently “vegetalien(ne).” Le sigh.

Baby steps in the right direction: please consider asking your Representative to support a bill requiring those who sell animal products to the U.S. gov’t not to, e.g., starve their animals, confine them restrictively, or leave injuries untreated.

Cheap vegan meal ideas! Nothing too groundbreaking, but seems like it would be useful for days when you come home too tired to think straight, let alone plan a coherent meal. (Via SuperVegan.)

In the Czech Republic vegetarian is called “vegetariania,” as in a vegetariania pizza. However, whenever I order one, they don’t understand what I’m asking for, so I have to point. When they say, “oh, vegetariania pizza,” it doesn’t sound anything like what I said. Even the “pizza” part.
