Woo hoo! People who mix up i.e. and e.g. should be hung up by their apostrophes — and using “impact” as a verb only makes me think of impacted drainage ducts. (Isn’t “different than” preferred in British English, though?)

Thank you. I was wondering about “different than.”
I nearly blogged the grammar mistakes entry. Especially annoying is “loose” and “lose.” I see that all of the time.

Mark: Too late, I think. (Kidding!)
Our authors are, largely, not too bad in the grammar department — enough that it really leaps out when they goof. They tend to be more of the School of Extreme Wordiness, which is fine for fiction (and blogging!) but drives me nuts in expository scientific writing.
